Oregon coast businesses excited for Memorial Day crowds 2023
The holiday weekend was a bustling one for businesses along the coast. And the proprietors of these businesses tell us they are thrilled that the milder weather is delivering the visitors their coastal communities require.
This Memorial Day weekend, businesses along the coast reported seeing more customers than the same time last year. According to them, this is a wonderful omen for the unofficial start of the tourist season.
The Oregon coast was a popular destination this Memorial Day weekend.
Cydnee Olson, a visitor, said, “This is their first time in the Pacific Northwest, so I wanted to show them one of my favorite spots, Cannon Beach, because it’s so beautiful here.”
Visitors spent the weekend exploring Cannon Beach. One restaurant serving delicious food and local beers reported that business has been brisk over the Memorial Day weekend.
“We had a large crowd on Saturday and Friday,” stated Zachary Stone of Screw & Brew. “Screw and Pour. We have excellent beverages. All local. We also source all of our products locally.”
Locals claim that the appeal of Cannon Beach is its small-town hospitality.
“Obviously, you’ve got Haystack Rock. You are aware that it is a historic location. “This town is extremely quaint,” Stone said.
Some visitors stated that they are simply passing through.
Robert Quenga, a tourist, stated, “I’m taking a ride down the coast all the way to California.”
“Riding with my sister’s husband. That was the plan, said visitor Rick Camacho.
Additionally, Fox 12 traveled a few miles up the coast to Seaside. A director of the Seaside Downtown Development Association stated that the bustling weekend is a positive indicator for the upcoming months.
“This has been a fantastic summer opener. Kerri Lambert, spokesperson for the Seaside Downtown Development Association, stated that a large number of individuals attended. Last Memorial Day weekend was enjoyable, but this one appears to be even better.
Locals are confident that you will appreciate all that the Oregon coast has to offer.
“Everyone who visits ends up loving it more than they anticipated,” Stone stated.
The visitors with whom we spoke concurred.
“I wish to relocate here. A visitor named AJ Bibergall exclaimed, “It’s amazing!”
According to the business association, there will be many exciting events this summer. A pair of auto shows, corgi day, and reports that the Fourth of July in Seaside is always enjoyable.
“We have many upcoming activities. Muscle and Chrome Car Show will be on June 17. This is now open for registration. “In September, we will host the largest auto show,” Lambert explained. “On June 24, we will celebrate Corgi Day, which is moving from Cannon Beach.”
