Mark Micallef leads Google Cloud Southeast Asia 2023

Today, Google Cloud announced the appointment of Mark Micallef as Managing Director for its Southeast Asia operations. Mark will be responsible for driving regional strategy, direction, team development, and overall revenue performance for Google Cloud and Google Workspace, as well as collaborating with teams across Google to assist customers in reimagining their businesses and industries through innovative and responsible artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.

Mark will report to Karan Bajwa, Vice President of Asia-Pacific Operations for Google Cloud. After holding leadership positions at Anaplan, Cloudera, Citrix, and Trend Micro, he joins Google Cloud with more than 28 years of technical, sales, and management experience. Mark has assisted multiple enterprises in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, Greater China, India, and Korea in growing and expanding their operations.

Google Cloud’s Southeast Asia operations are now led by Mark Micallef.

Southeast Asia continues to be one of the most crucial and fastest-growing regions for Google Cloud globally. Mark joins us at a time when technological advancements are allowing this region to leapfrog into the AI economy – the same way it became a digital and mobile-first economy expected to be worth more than US$300 billion by 2025, according to Karan Bajwa, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Google Cloud.
