Hyundai Motor Group and Vodafone Business Expand Partnership, Offering New European In-car Infotainment Services 2023

Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) and Vodafone Business have announced a multi-year extension of their existing strategic partnership to provide customers with advanced in-car streaming and infotainment services in over 40 European countries.

Under the terms of the expanded partnership, Vodafone Business will offer its Global Internet of Things (IoT) Connectivity for Connected Car Service to millions of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models sold in Europe.

Last year, HMG recorded its highest annual sales in Europe to date, with nearly 1.1 million units sold, and today’s announcement demonstrates the Group’s commitment to establishing itself as a market leader in innovative mobility solutions.

We want to lead the change of the transportation experience.

Vodafone is a trusted partner of Hyundai Motor Group and has been instrumental in connecting drivers of our vehicles with real-time and pertinent information while behind the wheel, according to Haeyoung Kwon, Vice President of the Infotainment Development Center at Hyundai Motor Group.

“Thanks to our sustained partnership, our vision for the future of the automotive industry will become a reality. We anticipate the development of this partnership so that Hyundai Motor Group can realize its genuine mobility potential.”

Erik Brenneis, Director of IoT for Vodafone Business, stated, “In-vehicle connectivity is becoming ubiquitous. Vodafone Business, as a forerunner in IoT, can offer distinctive and innovative solutions that accelerate the technology’s adoption.

Since 2018, Vodafone and Hyundai have been shaping the future of vehicle mobility, and the extension of our partnership allows us to improve the experience for millions of additional consumers across Europe.”

Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis customers in Europe will have access to features such as audio/video streaming and Wi-Fi nodes via Vodafone Business’ IoT Connectivity.

HMG will provide motorists with a more consistent experience and a higher level of cross-border mobility by leveraging the strength and geographical reach of Vodafone Business’s dominant global IoT platform, which already supports 160 million connections.
