Ford U.S. sales increase by 10.7% in May 2023
The news that Ford Motor Company has sold 170,933 automobiles in the United States in May was released on Friday. This figure represents a 10.7-percent rise from the 154,461 vehicles that were sold in May 2022.
To be more exact, sales of cars powered by internal combustion engines increased by 11.1 percent in May, while sales of hybrid vehicles increased by 20.5 percent and sales of electric vehicles decreased by 13 percent.
The carmaker with headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, has seen an increase of 8.8 percent in the percentage of vehicles sold in the United States so far this year.
Truck sales were the primary driver of Ford’s robust revenue rise.
In the month of May, sales of trucks produced by the American carmaker increased by 31.6 percent, reaching more over 98,000 units. A year-over-year rise in sales of 42.7 percent was reported for the F-Series, while a nearly 50 percent increase in sales was reported for the F-150.
May saw a total of 1,707 sales of Ford’s electrified F-150 Lightning pickup truck.
